It is so exciting to be a part of planning for the 50th Reunion. My name is Toni Case and I graduated from Oak Park, attended Davidson, Chapel Hill (for the infamous all 8th grade, all the time school year) and Northgate before embarking on the adventure that was NKCHS our junior year.
Currently I substitute teach at Oak Park High School and Staley High School (the newest high school in the NKC District). After grad school, I took time off to work in horticulture and then returned to research in medical education at the newly established UMKC School of Medicine.
I lived in Denver for a time where I had a temporary appointment to the Med School there, after which I did more work in horticulture.. Upon returning to KC, I did investigative work, had a stint as an executive recruiter and then went into teaching. I love my life!
Looking forward to catching up with so many of you from the olden days.

After Oak Park, I went to work with Southwestern Bell as a personnel clerk in Kansas City, married my husband, Glenn, from central Texas, moved to Houston, had a son and daughter, moved to San Antonio, TX, got them through college, held several levels of upper management secretarial Marketing Department positions, and after 33 years with Bell, retired in 2000.  Our children were raised around water, skiing, hiking, boating, camping.  After retiring, we built a house in Port O'Connor, on the Texas coast, to saltwater fish the bays and around the islands.  We sold our San Antonio home, bought a house in Victoria, TX, as our main residence which is just 60 minutes from the Port O'Connor house.  Most our time though is spent fishing out of Port O'Connor two-to-four days a week, having patio BBQ get-togethers with family, friends, and neighbors.  Our son is in San Antonio with his wife so we travel back there; they kayak, canoe, and have a trimaran for all the fresh and salt waters in Texas.  Our daughter is in Santa Fe, New Mexico, first worked for an Atlanta company that does safaris and in 2007 she took me with her on a two-week safari business trip all over Tanzania to view five camps during the annual migration--a lifetime experience for me!  She now works for The Santa Fe Opera, does search and rescue with her partner and is currently on the New Mexico Search & Rescue Board.  I go back to Kansas City to visit my brother and his wife, and my very active 91-year old aunt.  I've had a great life so far, and hope I have my aunt's longevity to fish on....

Project Manager Married 2
I left Oak Park to attend school in Springfield (SMS) at the time. Married a marine leaving Missouri and was fortunate to be able to live a lot of different places around the world. I returned to the US to have my children and raise them in Raleigh North Carolina. I have two lovely children daughter, Dawn Elizabeth and son, Dare. Dawn still resides in Raleigh with herhusband Bake and son, Trey. Dare resides in St. Thomas, USVI with his wife, Leigh Ann and their children Adalie Mae and Graiden Dare. In returning my joy has been to see old friends - not such a joy are the winters. A few years ago, Lyle Hoover and I married. We are a family of us, two horses, one dog,and a cat (much to Lyle's surprise he likes the cat). Send Deborah a MessageSend Deborah a Message
Candy Corey (Freeman)
Software Tester Committed Relationship 1
After a year at CMSC (Warrensburg), I went to work for Southwestern Bell as an operator and attended UMKC part time.  In 1970, I married Larry Freeman, OPHS class of '66.  Larry had been stationed in Taiwan.  We married during his leave before reporting for duty at Eglin AFB, FL.  Our "Best People" were Cheryl Groves Barnes and Roger Barnes, both OPHS '66.  We lived near the air base for about  2 1/2 years during which our son, Mykul, was born.  We did not spell it that way, believe me.  Darn kids have a mind of thier own when they turn 18!

Larry and I returned to the KC area in 1973 and settled down for the next few years.  I went to work first as a recruiter and then as a management trainee for HFC where I spent the next 13 years as the manager of various branches.  After a few years, we and our friends, Cheryl and Roger, built houses next to each other in Clinton county where we remained for 5 years.  We moved back to the northland and stayed put until Larry's company transferred him (and me) to St. Louis (St. Charles).  I finished up college at UMSL with a BA in Psych in 1987.

As soon as I graduated, a whole bunch of stuff happened.  Larry and I parted ways, he to NC and I moved to the city of St. Louis.  Our son moved to Tampa upon graduation, our cat and dog died within 6 months, and I sold our house.  Whew!  I took a job with the State of MO in Child Support where I worked for 9 years (career # 2).  Whilst there I volunteered for a special computer project that took me to Jefferson City for 2 1/2 years, Mon - Fri. .  On this project I learned what I wanted to be when I grew up!  I became a software tester in IT.  Once the project was complete and I returned to my regular office, I found a job in the IT industry and worked as a consultant (15 years) and am now an employee at a law firm in their IT department, enjoying my 3rd career.  I plan to retire in 2 years if I'm not still having fun.

Larry and I have an amiable relationship.  My son lives in Tampa, having just moved back from James Island SC.  I live with my partner of 13 years and we are marrying in October.  I sing with a local women's chorus, have 3 cats and love my life.  Hope everyone is well and enjoys the reunion.  I don't think I will make it.

Divorced 3
I lived on Briarcliff Road until my junior year when my family sold Eagle Animal Hospital and moved to Columbia, MO where I attended Hickman High School my junior and senior years. After graduation, I entered the University of Missouri in Columbia.

I was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines (Delta) in Minnesota for 10 years, traveling mostly in Asia. I married and had three beautiful girls. After 30 years in Minnesota, I divorced and moved to Palm Desert, CA to open my own business. I am now retired in paradise. I still love traveling and playing golf.

Looking forward to seeing all my Kindergarten, Briarcliff Elementary, Northgate friends and everyone!
