Retired Art Educator csdickey@mchsi.com Married 2
I am so looking forward to our reunion in 2016! After leaving Oak Park, I attended Northwest Mo. State University and graduated with a BA in Art Education....Landing a job with the NKC School District at Eastgate Jr. High in 1970. I married Charlie Dickey, ( who worked for JCPenney) in 1971 and taught at Eastgate for 7 years before "We" were transferred to Topeka, Ks. This began a journey of transfers with JCP every 3 years to different cities and states where I was fortunate enough to get wonderful art teaching positions.  We had two wonderful boys during these travels. Other places we've lived (and I taught) were: Olathe, Ks, Jefferson City, Mo., Columbia, Mo., Duluth, MN, Superior, Ws, and Hibbing, MN.  All in all, I was in art education for 43 years before retiring in May of 2013!  My husband and I just became "snowbirds" this past January, sharing our time with a home in Surprise, Arizona. We have our sons, and their family's close as both live within an hour of our Hibbing home.....and we've become avid Skype users while in AZ! I hope to see many of those friends I've lost contact with in the year ahead. Send Susie (Susan) a MessageSend Susie (Susan) a Message

Educator/administrator Widowed 4
Hello Hornets and Northmen!
I'm Sherry Leigh Grover Cossyphas, graduate of Oak Park- going the dizzying route from Davidson, Chapel Hill, Northgate, Northtown, and finally Oak Park.
I continued on to MIZZOU for a BS  in Special Ed and to Ball State for  an MPA.  I married a Greek grad student and we began a family of four great kids and two promising grandchildren (and counting!)  After living and working in Chicago, we moved many years ago to Athens Greece, where I still live. Cancer claimed my husband in 2008.
I've been the Administrator of an American Scholarship foundation for the last 16 years.
Fortunately, I do go back to the States at least once a year to see family and friends. I like to travel, read, and dabble in various creative projects.
In short, I have been blessed! I am excited about renewing friendships at the upcoming reunion.
See you there!

Journalist Single
My experience on the Hornet’s Buzz led to the University of Missouri School of Journalism and after graduation a life-long career in journalism. I started close to home as a reporter for The Kansas City Star where for five years I covered courthouse politics, fires, tornados, floods, murders, etc., in Clay and Platte Counties (of all places). After a subsequent stint on a newspaper published by the American Nurses Association (then based in Kansas City), I relocated in late 1978 to Washington, D.C. For the next 31 years, I served as a reporter, editor and publishing executive for a series of subscription-based business-to-business newsletter publishers providing regulatory news to segments of the health care industry. After the Great Recession hit private-sector publishing, I joined the Social Security Administration in 2009 to report, write and edit an in-house newsletter related to the agency’s disability program. Retired Married 3
After graduation I headed to Springfield to attend (then) Southwest Missouri State.  After graduation from SMS, I taught high school in Springfield for five years then left Missouri to attend Law School.  We returned to Springfield where I practiced law and mediation for 35 years.  I am now retired and we continue to live in Springfield.  I met my wife in the SMS library when she was a Junior at SMS and I was teaching high school.  Forty-four years later she is still trying to train up a husband in the way he should go!
We are blessed with three children and four grandchildren.  Three grandkids live in Liberty and one lives in California.  We see the grandchildren in Liberty so often we finally bought a small town home in Liberty (just to make sure they were being properly spoiled!).  We are blessed to be able to travel to California frequently to see our daughter and granddaughter who live there.
Pam retired from her position as Staff Development Director for Springfield Public Schools but she still stays busy with consulting work with MSU.  We are also busy working through our life list (just hate to call it a "bucket list"!) and have loved traveling together to see the world.  One of our favorite places, though, is still our Little Cabin in the Woods in the beautiful Boston Mountains of NW Arkansas.  When there, we quickly invoke the cabin rules: "It is OK to snack before meals, rest before naps, and watch the sunrise and sunset without having done very much productive in between."
Like some of you, I went to four schools (Eastgate, Maple Park, NKC and Oak Park) in five years without ever moving!  I am looking forward to seeing old friends and learning about the story of "you" from the last fifty years.

Jim Hecht
Financial Advisor Married 3
After graduation from MIT with a BSEE in 1970 and MBA in 1972, I moved to Denver without a job and found one with Ingersoll-Rand leading to a 30 year career ending in senior management.  It had been my intent to stay in CO forever to climb, backpack and ski, but career interests took over leading to lots of moves to KY in 1976, CA in 1978, NC in 1980,back to KY in 1986 and back to Lake Norman in NC again in 1990.  My wife Robin (who I met and married in CA in1979) and I love it here and our daughters are native Carolinians so this is where we expect to stay.  We now have three lovely granddaughters who easily top the list of reasons we are thankful to be alive today.  I still work in my second career as a financial advisor withWells Fargo begun in 1999-how time flies!  At this late date I must give much credit to NKC and my fellow classmates for the solid foundation they gave me to enjoy a good life.  Thank you andhope to see you next year.  Jim Send Jim a MessageSend Jim a Message

I taught Spanish, managed a small-town clothing store, etc.  We have lived in Des Moines the past 7 years.  Son and family live here; daughter and family live in Fort Worth.  Four grandsons, ages 4 to 8.  Unfortunately, we have already committed to spending time with Tom's college friends reunion time.  It has been fun to see how everyone has spent the last 50 years!
