NANCY E. (ABBOTT) JOHNS Obituary
Nancy E. Abbot Johns, 65, passed away peacefully at Quail Creek Nursing Home in Springfield, Missouri on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, after a two and a half year bout with cancer. She was born on October 24, 1947, in Kansas City, MO, to Orson Thomas and Lorene (Sederquist) Abbott. She was a 1966 graduate of North Kansas City High School. In July of 1968, she married Joseph Johns of Kansas City, MO, and they had two sons. For the next 44 plus years, she attempted to raise Joe and their sons as they moved from Kansas City to Springfield back to Kansas City then to Waterloo, Ill, then to Mexico City, then to Marissa, Ill, and finally to Stockton, MO, where she did volunteer work in each town. She did a superb job. None who met this beautiful, kind, and compassionate lady could fail to appreciate her bravery and sense of humor. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Johns of Stockton; her sons, Joseph Anderson Johns and William Joseph Johns of Springfield, MO; her sister, Shirley Abbott of San Juan Capistrano, CA; her Harley Davidson Motorcycle; and her dog, Keesha.
